Despina Saphiris

Despina began her career with KPMG in 2003, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). After working in the real estate sector, she moved into financial services in 2011, gaining experience across banking, funds and investment firms, specialising in governance, internal audit, risk management and regulatory compliance.

She is a Chartered Accountant (ACA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and holds both the CySEC Advanced Certificate and a Life Insurance Certificate from the Insurance Institute of Cyprus. Throughout her career, Despina has held key leadership positions, including Executive Director, Risk Manager, Head of Internal Audit and Audit Committee Chairperson. Her experience spans corporate governance, internal controls, risk management and financial performance oversight.

Despina has one child and enjoys the arts, music and staying active, balancing her professional responsibilities with her personal interests.
